It is Labor Day 2026 weekend as I write and I hope that all of you are enjoying a restful weekend as our nation pauses to recognize the contributions of the workers who have been and are the real backbone that has driven the United States forward. Philip C. Kretschman (D-345), age 100, passed away peacefully on May 31st, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who lived a remarkable life filled with faith, strength, and care for those around him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille F. (Adamczyk) Kretschman; they were married 64 years until her death in 2017. He was also preceded by his sister, Sister Marie Fatima Kretschman, and his grandson, Philip [more...]
